11 Questions that lead to gratitude
It’s a good idea to look back and reflect on the year that’s just coming to an end. What are you grateful for?
- What made you happy? The new friends I’ve made in my new town
- What energized you? Running the Chicago Marathon.
- What barrier did you overcome? Letting go of past relationships, coming to the realization that I made them into what I wanted them to be, rather than what they were.
- What changed you? My new career; Knowing I am and will be okay on my own.
- What triggered your creativity? Writing.
- What deepened your spirituality? Suffering from broken relationships and not knowing where I’m going in life - these all allowed me to be closer to God in every way, shape and form.
- What kindness did you experience? People reaching out to me in my new town. Invites to everything. Support from family, friends, and strangers at the Chicago Marathon.
- What did others do for you? Family always checking in on me; support at the race; wonderful neighbors; great friends always picking up the phone and giving me good laughs.
- What inspired you? Chicago Marathon, IAmSecond, A stranger introducing me to his entire family at church
- What made you feel good? Knowing how far I’ve come; loving the person I’ve become - and am still becoming; meeting great people
- What difficulty taught you an important lesson? Relocating - taking the road less traveled really has made all the difference. I am no longer afraid of taking risks and the word “no” is hardly in my vocabulary. Also, losing relationships I thought mattered. I now have the opportunity to be selective and not settle for anything less than God’s best for me. God will help me to have the desires of my heart. ”…don’t settle for substandard. You deserve a loving and caring person. Be patient, and you’ll find the one God has created for you.”
